• 3 MINUTE READ

Emma Raducanu is coming off the back of one of the best and most consistent seasons of her career in 2025.

The 22-year-old has climbed back up inside the WTA top 30 thanks to a solid year on tour, in which she’s reached a semi-final in Washington, two quarter-finals, clinched her first top 10 win on a hard court, and picked up regular wins at Grand Slam and WTA 1000 level.

Raducanu finishes the season as the British No.1 and will be hoping to build on many of the results and the momentum this year as we look forward to 2026.

Catch up on all the highlights and best moments from Raducanu’s 2025 season:

Emma Raducanu’s biggest win of the 2025 season:

The British No.1s biggest win of the season came during her best run at a WTA 1000 event – reaching the quarter-finals at the Miami Open in March.

In the second round, Raducanu claimed her first and only top 10 win of the season against the then world No.10 Emma Navarro.

Raducanu showed her fight to come through a three hour battle 7-6(6), 2-6, 7-6(3) to seal a stand out win on one of the biggest stages in the WTA season.

The Brit went on to beat future Wimbledon and US Open runner-up, and current world No.4 Amanda Anisimova 6-1, 6-3 in the fourth round as well, before losing to Jessica Pegula in three sets.

Despite it finishing with a loss – one of Raducanu’s defining moments of the season was her blockbuster third round clash with Aryna Sabalenka at Wimbledon.

The stage was set for an incredible battle between the British and world No.1s with a Friday night billing on Centre Court – and that’s exactly what they produced.

With the home fans fully behind the 2021 US Open champion, Raducanu came within touching distance of one of the upsets of the season but narrowly lost 7-6(6), 6-4.

The match attracted a peak TV audience of over five million people – the third highest non-final match in Wimbledon history and showed that Raducanu has all the ingredients to go toe-to-toe with the best players in the world.

In her next tournament, Raducanu defeated three former top 10 players in Marta Kostyuk, four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka and Maria Sakkari to make the semi-final of the WTA 500 Citi Open in Washington.

Just weeks after, Raducanu took on Sabalenka again in Cincinnati – coming even closer in an eventual 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-6(5) loss.

Earlier this year, Raducanu made a young fan's dream come true as she surprised 11‑year‑old Joanie Melady at the National Tennis Centre, following a special invitation from the LTA and the HSBC Championships.

Joanie, an 11-year-old girl who was born with part of her left arm missing, first appeared on BBC Breakfast two years ago where she hailed former US Open champion Raducanu as her favourite tennis player.

Fast forward to the beginning of June and Joanie's dreams became a reality when she was offered the opportunity to finally meet her tennis hero in person.

Emma Raducanu’s quote of the year:

I’ve got some really good people around me and have fun with off the court – that’s extremely important. For me who’s extremely expressive and when I play my best I’m definitely authentic, true to myself and creative.

When the line-up for the new US Open mixed doubles event came out during the summer, there was one pairing that instantly stood out amongst a list of star-studded names.

Raducanu teamed up with now world No.1 and six-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz as one of the must-watch pairings at Flushing Meadows.

The two former US Open champions were full of smiles and laughter out on court during their match against fellow Brit Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula, and had plenty of highlights to celebrate despite bowing out in the first round.

What’s next for Emma Raducanu in 2026?:

Raducanu will come into 2026 hoping to build on plenty of positives from this season. Having played a full season, come through big matches and challenged the top players in the game, the British No.1 will be hoping to take that next step and push for titles in the new year.

Her season will start at the 2026 United Cup, where she will join Draper in representing Great Britain, before then moving on to the Australian Open in Melbourne.
