Daniella Britton & Mark Ceban seal 18U titles at the 2026 Lexus Junior National Championships

Dorset’s Daniella Britton and Surrey’s Mark Ceban have been crowned singles champions at the 2026 18U Lexus Junior National Championships tournament at the LTA's National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.

Britton’s impressive 6-1, 6-3 win against Northamptonshire’s Tegan Bush saw her add the 18U title to the 16U trophy she won last week, as she clinched victory with a fine backhand winner.

The triumph secured her the prestigious Junior Nationals title and also gave her a chance to take her place in the qualifying event for the women’s singles at The Championships, Wimbledon in June.

“It was a very difficult match,” said Britton. “Tegan is a great player and she doesn’t allow you to get rhythm. Yesterday I picked up a slight injury, so I had to adapt my game to be able to bring what I can to the court and take home the title.

“The 16’s title last week was unbelievable to win. That was a big goal for me coming into this year. To win the 18’s as well, I’m very pleased.”

Looking ahead to her debut appearance in Wimbledon qualifying, Britton added: “I honestly can’t believe it. I’ll be playing pros, the best of the best. I’m just really happy that I will get that experience and try and push my game on further.”

Ceban added the 18U Junior Nationals title to the 16U title he won in 2024 after an impressive 6-4, 6-1 win over Somerset’s Joshua Craze.

The top seed – who is currently the junior world No.30 – won the title after dropping just one set over the course of the whole tournament.

“In the first set, he played very well,” said Ceban. “He was very smart tactically and then in the second set, I changed my game a little bit and played more solid, without going for as many winners. I think that was important.

“Now I’m excited to play in qualifying for Wimbledon. I did well a couple of years ago at Wimbledon in the Juniors and I’ve had a lot of practice on grass, so I think that will give me a good advantage playing in qualifying.”

While there was disappointment for losing finalists Bush and Craze, their fine runs to the finals of the Junior National will ensure they receive a wild card into the main draw of The Junior Championships, Wimbledon.

Martin Weston, LTA Men's National Coach, said: “An enjoyable week. It has been great to see the boys fighting hard and the significance of the prize draws out different qualities.

“We’ve seen some upsets and in the end, our No.1 seed, Mark Ceban, turned in some fine performances on his way through. I really enjoyed Mark’s first match against Jan Janda, which went to three sets. Jan is younger and raised his game, but Mark found a way through.

“It was also fantastic to see Josh Craze in the final. Josh was really impressive in his semi-final against Liam Channon, who beat our No.2 seed Rhys Lawlor in his opening match.

“As was the case with the 16U event last week, the boys now need to take the performances they have put in during this tournament and produce this level week-in, week-out. It’s great to see them raise their level here and now we want to see them do that on a regular basis. If they do that, their rankings will be much higher.”

Katie O’Brien, LTA Women’s National Coach, said: “It was a great effort from Dani to win both the 16U and 18U National titles this year. She has shown an impressive skillset and a calm demeanour throughout the fortnight, which will stand her in good stead for the future. I'm excited to see what she can do at Wimbledon this year. It was a fantastic effort from Tegan too to make the final this week.”

The girls’ doubles title was won by top seeds Suffolk’s Megan Knight and Middlesex’s Hollie Smart, as they beat singles finalist Bush and her partner Teodora Prisadnikova in the final.

In the boys’ doubles event, the unseeded duo of Surrey’s Liam Channon and Warwickshire’s William Moxon beat No.3 seeds Archie Gray and Oliver Page in the final.
