Great Britain's Fed Cup team dramatically defeated Hungary 2-0 to reach Saturday's promotion play-off against Serbia. Katie Boulter and Johanna Konta both survived three-set thrillers against Dalma Galfi and Anna Bondar, much to the delight of the sell-out crowd at the University of Bath.

Boulter secured her fifth consecutive Fed Cup win by overcoming an inspired world No.311 Galfi 6-4, 6-7(5), 7-6(1).  The result means she is yet to be beaten in the Fed Cup, following her debut in the same zonal event last year in Estonia.

Upon her achievement, the British No.2 said: "It's something I've been wanting to be doing my whole life and I'm really proud of what I'm doing right now."

Just a day after overcoming Greece's world No.38 Maria Sakkari, Konta displayed plenty of determination to battle past Bondar, 6-2, 6-7(1), 7-6(4).  The British No.1 had everyone on the edge of their seats when she was forced to save multiple break points in the final set before she went on to close the match.

By defeating Hungary, Greece (on Thursday) and Slovenia (on Wednesday), the Brits finished top of Group A in the round-robin stage of the Europe/Africa Group I competition. Triumph against Group B winner Serbia would send them into April's World Group II Play-Offs.

Looking ahead to the play-off, Konta said: "Either way I'm incredibly proud of this team and I know we are doing the best we can."

Serbia and Great Britain  have faced just twice before - in 1999 and 2005 - with one win apiece. Coverage of the play-off will start from 16:30, Saturday 9 February and will be streamed live on the British Tennis Facebook page and exclusively live on BT Sport 2.

Back the Brits!
