Katie Boulter has been nominated for a Fed Cup Heart Award following her phenomenal form during Great Britain's World Group II Play-Off against Kazakhstan. The award celebrates players who have displayed outstanding determination and courage on court.

Katie's nomination comes after she sealed the tie for Great Britain, defeating Zarina Diyas to send the team back into the World Group for the first time in 26 years.

Katie's gutsy 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 win over Diyas came just a day after she fell in a tantalisingly close battle to Yulia Putintseva. Boulter herself secured three match points, before eventually falling 3-6, 6-2, 7-6(6) to the world No.36. Nevertheless, the 22-year-old from Leicestershire didn't give up and returned to court less than 24 hours later to back up Johanna Konta's victories and give Great Britain an overall 3-1 victory.

Prior to the Play-Off at London's Copper Box Arena, Katie had won her first four Fed Cup singles rubbers during Great Britain's Europe/Africa Group I campaign at the University of Bath back in February. She defeated Slovenia's Kaja Juvan, Greece's Valentini Grammatikopoulou, Hungary's Dalma Galfi and Serbia's Ivana Jorovic to contribute to the team's final 10/0 win/loss record.

Before 2019, Boulter had made just two Fed Cup appearances which came in February 2018 when she played in the Europe/Africa Group I competition in Tallinn, Estonia. Teamed up with doubles specialist Anna Smith, Katie made a winning debut as the British pairing triumphed against Portugal and Estonia. Katie now holds a remarkable 7/1 win/loss record.
