Travel advice for ticket holders if there's no Brexit deal Travel advice for ticket holders if there's no Brexit deal addremove

The Government has published advice around a no deal Brexit on 31 October, which British fans travelling to Spain to support the team may wish to consider.

- The EU Commission has proposed that UK nationals can visit the EU for 90 days in any 180 days visa-free in the event of a no deal Brexit. This covers Schengen Area Countries (including Spain).

- Passports should have at least 6 months left on date of travel, and be less than 10 years old.

- The Spanish Government have agreed that British citizens will be entitled to the same healthcare treatment as with the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), provided they can show their passport, even if the UK leaves without a deal. However, for those travelling via other EU countries, EHIC may not be valid after a no deal Brexit, and so they should ensure they have appropriate health and travel insurance.

- The Government has said that those visiting Spain for up to 9 months after the UK leaves the EU will not need an International Drivers Permit, as long as they are carrying their UK photocard or paper driving licence. Those taking their own vehicle will need a ‘green card’ from their vehicle insurance company.

- The Government has advised that there could be delays to flights after Brexit, and so those travelling should check travel arrangements with their carrier, particularly if travelling immediately after 31 October.
