Just 15 hours after battling past the Netherlands, the GB Davis Cup team returned to their winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Kazakhstan. By winning both of their group matches, they finish top of Group E to advance to the knockout stages.

Edmund powers past Kukushkin

Kyle Edmund was first up and gave Great Britain a 1-0 lead after sailing past world No.67 Mikhail Kukushkin 6-3, 6-3. The 2018 Australian Open semi-finalist was in dominant form, hitting ten aces and 24 winners - courtesy of his infamous fearhand that delighted roaring British fans in Caja Magica.

Evans falls to Bublik

Dan Evans was second on court against world No.57 Alexander Bublik. The British No.1 dug deep to take the opening set 7-5, but Bublik bounced back to claim the second 6-4 and discovered some of his finest form in the final set to triumph 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.

Murray and Skupski clinch the decider

It was a case of deja vu for Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski, with the team's fate riding on the doubles rubber. Just like their clash against the Netherlands, they stepped up to the task at hand to defeat Kukushkin and Bublik 6-1, 6-4.

Up next...

Great Britain will take on Group C winners Germany in the quarter-finals, taking place from 16:30 (GMT) on Friday. The two nations have met nine times before in Davis Cup history, with Great Britain winning on four of those occasions. Their last head-to-head was in 1973.
