The LTA recognises that we have an important role to play in addressing issues related to sustainability, protecting and supporting the environment and tackling and reducing our climate impacts, including at our major events.
The effects of climate change and other environmental challenges will increasingly have an impact on tennis in Britain, and it is critical that we take responsibility for the impacts we have, act to minimise them, and use our platform to spread awareness, advocate for and support positive action.
Last year, the LTA committed to the UN’s Sport for Climate Action Framework, and in spring 2022, we will publish the organisation’s first ever sustainability action plan, setting out how we will address sustainability considerations across our own operations and major events, and in our role as national governing body for tennis in Britain, supporting the wider tennis community.
We are committed to ensuring our major events meet high standards of sustainability, by reducing climate impacts, ensuring we utilise resources efficiently to reduce waste, and consider our impact on the natural environment. Further details of specific plans for 2022 and beyond will be published in due course.
If you wish to leave and re-enter the grounds please have your ticket with you and show this to the volunteer team when you come back in.
The safety and security of our spectators are very important to us and our security plans are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain in line with the latest threat level.
We hope you have a fantastic day at the British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships, but if you do see something which doesn't look right, please tell the closest Volunteer or who will be more than happy to help.
The 2022 site map is currently being updated and will be available to view in due course.
Smoking, which includes e-cigarettes, is strictly prohibited within the stands of any court and in all areas covered by legislation. Those wishing to smoke within the venue must do so only in the designated smoking area provided within the grounds.

Our Volunteers are present throughout the tournament grounds. They are there to help you find your way around; provide any information you need to enjoy your visit and to keep you safe. They are always on the look-out for people who may need assistance, so don’t be surprised if they pop up to say hello if you look lost. Please do ask them if you need any assistance.
