Billie Jean King Cup 2024: The Brits to face France at Le Chaudron

• 1 MINUTE READ

The Lexus Great Britain Billie Jean King Cup team will take on France in their Finals Qualifier at Le Chaudron in Le Portel from Friday 12 to Saturday 13 April.

The French Tennis Federation (FFT) has announced that the tie is set for an indoor clay court in the Hauts-de-France region on the North West coast of France.

The arena, which usually plays host to the ESSM Le Portel basketball team, has a capacity of 3400 seats.

More details on how to buy tickets to watch the Brits take on France will be available soon.

France last played at the venue as recently as November, where they defeated Netherlands 3-1 in their Play-Off tie.

Great Britain and France faced each other at this stage last year, with the British side narrowly losing 3-1 in a match that saw the most tie-breaks ever in a Billie Jean King Cup tie (seven).

The two teams have played each other four times in the tournament’s history, both with two wins each Great Britain: 1981 & 1976) (France: 2023 & 1975).
