16U GB Representation
When it comes to representing your country, there is no feeling quite like it. Pulling on that Great Britain (GB) t-shirt and walking onto court with the flag on your chest is an incredibly proud moment for any junior athlete.
There are several opportunities throughout the year to represent GB on the tennis court, most poignantly is at Winter and Summer Cups, and the Billie Jean King Cup Junior Finals and Junior Davis Cup Finals.
Winter & Summer Cups

These events are run by Tennis Europe and are held with qualifying and finals across Europe. They typically run in January for the Winter Cup and in June/July for the Summer Cup.
Team GB have done well at these events in recent years, with our U16 Summer Cup Girls Team qualifying for the Billie Jean King Cup (BJKC) Junior Finals in 2024 and 2025.
Billie Jean King Cup Juniors & Junior Davis Cup
For 16U Summer Cup teams that do well in the finals, they qualify for their retrospective BJKC Junior and Junior DC events. Our 16U girls have qualified for the past two years, and this year it saw them travel to Chile to compete.
Take a look at the event from 2024 and hear from the players and their captain, Katie O’Brien, on what the event means to the cohort and what competing for Great Britain feels like.
European Junior Championship
Typically held at the end of the summer, the European Junior Championships, hosted by Tennis Europe, is a knockout tournament for nations to select two boys and two girls to represent their country in singles and doubles. It's an event where you represent your country but are competing for yourself.
