The information on this page has been produced based on the latest information available to us and in consultation with both Tennis Scotland and Tennis Wales, and follows our continued dialogue with Government.

Playing Tennis During Lockdown

Scotland & Wales

All tennis facilities and courts should currently remain closed, and tennis coaching and activity should remain on hold.

England

Based on our discussions with Government and following the adjustment of lockdown restrictions, the LTA has developed a set of practical guidelines to follow so that tennis can be played in England during lockdown, where the local environment allows and in accordance with social distancing.

These guidelines apply to both tennis and padel, and outline adaptations so that tennis activity can be enjoyed in a way that is in line with Government advice and helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

At all times, players should adhere to the Government’s social distancing guidelines (staying at least 2m away from others), and practice public health advice for hygiene.

Find a court

Please be aware that not all courts may be open. Venues will need to make an assessment based on whether they can facilitate safe play at their venue. Where they chose to remain closed please respect this decision.

In addition, not all other venues will be open from Wednesday 13 May - some courts may take time to be unlocked and prepared for use following the closure during the lockdown period.
