Episode 1

Episode 1 sees GB Davis Cup star, and partner of Jamie Murray, Neal Skupski, go head to head with ex-professional surfer Laura Crane in the Round the World Challenge. Viewers can hear Neal’s low-down of lock-down Zoom training with the likes of Andy Murray, brother Jamie, and Aidan McHugh, all who are battling it out alongside Britain’s top tennis pros, male and female, in this week’s live event at the National Tennis Centre – Battle of the Brits Team Tennis.

The Showdown

The aim of the new Showdown series is to bring to life the incredible array of player personalities in tennis – exploring themes such as family, entertainment, health & fitness and more – and to encourage the nation to get inspired by all aspects of the sport; celebrate individualism, take part in the challenges, and engage with the players and guests.

The Showdown is part of the LTA’s Play Your Way campaign drive to remind people how accessible tennis is and that it is open for business this summer. Hand-in-hand with the Play Your Way campaign, the LTA has also launched a major long-term strategic drive to grow participation in tennis across parks throughout the country by supporting local authorities with cost-free opportunities to improve the health and wellbeing of their communities through tennis, and ensure their tennis venues are sustainable for the future.
