Tennis Development Administrator Vacancy

We are delighted to announce that we are looking to recruit a Tennis Development Administrator to provide crucial operational and administration support to our participation and performance programmes.  This position will help ensure that our activities are appropriately coordinated and delivered in an efficient manner through excellent administration and operation processes.  The role will be crucial in assisting us to provide outstanding customer service.

This role requires expert organisation, administration and communication skills.  An outstanding candidate will display an ability to work analytically and problem solve effectively.

Responsible to                   Head of Participation  

Location                             Flexible but with a need to be present in theTennis Wales Office, Cardiff as duties require, with occasional further travel required across Wales (The Tennis Wales team is working remotely/from home during the Covid-19 pandemic)

Salary                                 Up to £20,000 per annum with great benefits including pension and healthcare    

Salary Hours                      35 hours per week (Full time), flexible work arrangements considered, including job share.


Coach Development

  • Provide exemplary customer service through administrating the Tennis Wales Coach Development Centre (CDC) and being a point of contact for all coach qualification, development and teacher training queries.
  • Updating and coordinating the CDC website and creating monthly newsletters to all coaching stakeholders in Wales.
  • Coordinating an annual workforce calendar that includes all courses including; coaching, teaching, inclusion, volunteering, officiating, first aid and safeguarding (including attendance at courses from time to time).
  • Maintaining data management systems, supporting the Coaching and Volunteering Manager with performance management reporting and effective budget control.


  • Support the coordination of a comprehensive annual calendar of tennis competitions across Wales (including attendance at events from time to time).
  • Act as a point of contact for competition related enquiries from venues, officials, coaches, parents and players offering excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate the competition and officials’ newsletter and update the competition section of the Tennis Wales website as necessary.
    • Maintaining data management systems, supporting the Competition and Events manager with performance management reporting and effective budget control.


  • Provide operational and logistical support in relation to the County and National Performance Programmes and associated squads (including attendance at activities from time to time).
  • Act as a point of contact for performance related enquiries from venues, coaches, parents and players offering excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate the bi-monthly performance bulletin and update the performance section of the Tennis Wales website as necessary.
  • Maintaining data management systems, supporting the Head of Performance with performance management reporting and effective budget control.


  • Provide exemplary customer service through role as an initial point of contact for customer and stakeholder queries on behalf of the participation team signposting to team members for help and advice as required.
  • Administration and operational support to the Heads of Participation and Performance as required.
  • Support Tennis Wales efforts to ensure registered venues in Wales are safe to practise, protecting children & vulnerable adults playing tennis across the country in partnership with colleagues in Tennis Wales and statutory agencies.
  • Any other reasonable duties required from time to time to ensure effective business operation.



Experience of working in an administration and/or operations role, involving regular contact with customers and stakeholders.


Experience of content management systems for website and production of newsletters and other communications content.


Knowledge & experience of working in tennis or sport with clubs, coaches and volunteers.



Knowledge and Skills

Excellent communication (written, verbal and listening) skills.



Excellent organisation and planning skills with exemplary attention to detail.



Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise own workload.



Ability to manage and influence others effectively including colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure tasks are completed successfully.


Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities working to deadlines



Effective budget management and scrutiny skills along with ability to provide clear performance management information to colleagues.


Excellent IT skills and experience using Outlook and Microsoft packages including Word & Excel.



Full UK driving license.



An ability to communicate (written, verbal and read) through the medium of Welsh.
