Tennis Wales proudly hosted two regional Disability Charity Networking events at Swansea Tennis Centre and Wrexham Tennis Centre in September 2025. These events mark a significant step forward in our commitment to making tennis accessible and inclusive for all.

Bringing together tennis club coaches, volunteers, and representatives from local disability charities, the events provided a unique platform to build relationships, explore collaboration opportunities, and experience adapted tennis activities in a supportive environment. These events aim to:

  • Develop partnerships between tennis clubs and local disability charities
  • Increase participation in disability tennis across Wales
  • Enhance coach development and confidence in delivering inclusive sessions
  • Support Community Inclusive Tennis Club (CITC) growth
  • Showcase and trial inclusive and adapted tennis activities

Each event featured hands-on sessions tailored to local needs: Walking Tennis in Wrexham and Wheelchair/Para Standing Tennis in Swansea. Attendees had the chance to try adapted formats, share best practices, and discuss pathways for sustainable, community-led disability tennis sessions.

By fostering new partnerships and building awareness, Tennis Wales is paving the way for a more inclusive future—where everyone, regardless of ability, can enjoy the benefits of tennis.
