Barclays Free Parks Tennis Shines in Cardiff
Tennis Wales is thrilled to highlight a fantastic example of community engagement and inclusive tennis delivery at Roath Park in Cardiff, where our Barclays Free Parks Tennis programme came to life in a vibrant and meaningful way.
The event brought together a brilliant team of three newly recruited activators in Joseph, Richard and Weixin, who helped deliver a fun, welcoming, and accessible tennis experience for all.
A standout moment of the day was the collaboration with the Chinese In Wales Association, who brought along 28 enthusiastic participants. They were joined by six members of the local community, creating a diverse and energetic group that truly reflected the spirit of the programme.
This event was a showcase of how the Barclays Free Parks Tennis initiative, developed by the LTA and delivered in partnership with Tennis Wales, can thrive when local community groups are actively engaged.
From first-time players to returning enthusiasts, everyone had the opportunity to enjoy tennis in a relaxed, inclusive park setting.
The success at Roath Park demonstrates the power of partnership, local leadership, and grassroots activation in making tennis more accessible to all communities across Wales.
