Tennis Scotland Open Tour

The TS Open Tour is nationwide circuit allowing men’s and women’s players to compete for prize money on home soil, with significant funding coming from much-appreciated sponsorship.
Events include young players with ambitions of competing professionally and internationally as well as national-level and club players.
With approximately 20 TS Open Tour events each year, players climb up and down a leaderboard as they are awarded ranking points based on their performances. The men’s and women’s players who end the year with the most ranking points are crowned the leaderboard champions.
The 16 players from each category qualify for the TS Open Tour Finals, a ‘masters’-style two-day event held at the end of the year.
The Tour was created by Tennis Scotland in partnership with clubs, organisers and other partners as a national structure of competition for yellow-ball players, creating opportunities for all levels of play.
By also hosting workshops and development competitions, many Tour events also provide opportunities for tennis coaches and junior players to develop their skills.
The TS Open Tour is made up of 12 Leaderboard events plus two standalone national doubles championships.
Players earn ranking points based on their performances in Leaderboard events, with the top 16 men and women qualifying for the TS Open Tour Finals in December.
Prize money totalling nearly £100,000 is on offer to players over the course of the season, broken down as follows:
TS Open Tour Finals
- Winner - £2,000
- Runner-Up - £1,500
- Semi-Finalists - £500
- Quarter-Finalists - £400

How are rankings calculated?
Ranking points are accumulated based on performances in the singles tournaments at the 12 Leaderboard events.
Players are then ranked in order of most points accumulated.
If there’s a tie, how is the order determined?
- Highest number of Leaderboard events played.
- Player with the highest singles ranking points received from an individual event.
TS Open Tour Finals
Entries for the 16 men’s and women’s places at the TS Open Tour Finals will be accepted in order of the Leaderboard following the final qualifying event.
A total of two wildcards in each draw may be awarded. To be eligible for a wildcard, a player must have played in at least one Leaderboard event in the calendar year and won a match.
A wildcard may be awarded to a player who has not entered the tournament and that player may be seeded.
Seedings for the draw will be based on:
- ATP/WTA singles ranking
- ITF World Tennis singles ranking (1500 or better)
- ITF World Tennis Number (followed by LTA ranking)
Other rules & regulations
Grade 1 and 2 singles events will follow rules in line with the British Tour, which can be found here: LTA British Tour Professional Tennis Competition
Grade 3 singles events will follow LTA competition rules and regulations, however acceptances and seedings will be based on:
- ATP/WTA singles ranking
- ITF World Tennis singles ranking (must be 1500 or better)
- ITF World Tennis Number (followed by LTA ranking if WTN same)
A player who is defaulted from any event or receives a suspension in 2025 may be deemed ineligible and refused entry for any TS tour finals event (Open, Challenge or Junior Tour).
