Tennis Scotland supports Clean Sport Week 2024

• 2 MINUTE READ

Tennis Scotland are proud to reaffirm our commitment to a clean sport by backing UK Anti-Doping’s (UKAD’s) Clean Sport Week from 13-17 May.

In an Olympic and Paralympic year, ‘Journey to the Podium’ is the theme for the annual national awareness campaign, which champions clean sport, education and anti-doping initiatives.

As the governing body in Scotland, we have once again achieved compliance with UKAD’s Assurance Framework and will be continuing to make everyone involved with tennis and Padel tennis aware of the need for clean sports.

Activity on Tennis Scotland’s and UKAD’S social media channels will showcase how it takes a lifetime of work, commitment, and a network of support to help athletes perform at their very best level.

These achievements can be taken away in a moment by doping, so creating a culture of clean sport is essential for the health and welfare of our athletes and the integrity of tennis and Padel tennis.

To meet the requirements of the UKAD Assurance Framework, Tennis Scotland again proved that it met 24 criteria and has necessary measures in place to mitigate the risk of doping in sport.

Blane Dodds, Tennis Scotland Chief Executive, said: “We pride ourselves on our work to keep tennis clean and we are pleased to have once again met the requirements set out in the UKAD Assurance Framework, showing our continued commitment to anti-doping in tennis.

“Standing against doping is crucial to ensuring a clear and level playing field, for every player on an equal basis.

“As the governing body of tennis in Scotland, we welcome our responsibility to mitigate the risk of doping in our sport and remain dedicated to our compliance with UKAD.”
