Legends to visit Scotland for Brodies Tennis Invitational

• 3 MINUTE READ

Tennis Scotland has teamed up with the Brodies Tennis Invitational as it brings legends of the sport and emerging talent to Edinburgh.

Former British number ones Greg Rusedski and Johanna Konta will be joined by crowd favourites – including former world number eight Mark Philippoussis, Australian Open finalist Marcos Baghdatis and ex-Queen’s champion Feliciano Lopez – at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre from 28-30 September, 2023.

The event will see a mixture of singles and doubles matches across the three days of competition, with the legends also sharing the court with some of Scotland’s most promising talent, including Tennis Scotland Ambassadors Maia Lumsden (pictured below) and Ali Collins.

Tournament director, the former GB Davis Cup player Colin Fleming, said: “We are delighted to bring the Brodies Tennis Invitational back for the sixth time, and to be taking the event to Edinburgh this year. The city, and the Scottish fans, are sure to provide an atmospheric backdrop to what promises to be a superb three days of sport in the capital.

“Brodies Tennis Invitational will also provide an opportunity for young Scottish players to showcase their talents on the match court, which is a fantastic experience for them, and a huge bonus for the crowd too.”

Tennis Scotland will be supporting the event in a number of ways, including arranging ball kids and providing on-site opportunities for children to develop their skills and learn more about the sport.

Tennis Scotland Chief Executive Blane Dodds said: “There is always a tremendous appetite for tennis in Scotland and I am sure the spectators and fans will create an amazing atmosphere, as well as relishing the opportunity to enjoy watching tennis greats on court alongside exciting homegrown talent.

“We are delighted to be an associate partner of the Brodies Tennis Invitational, supporting the event in a number of ways to showcase our fantastic sport and inspire people to get involved in tennis.”
