1. Introduction

By applying for British Tennis Membership you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. The Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. British Tennis Membership

2.1 British Tennis Membership was launched on 1 March 2008.

2.2 There are three categories of British Tennis Members:

2.2.1 British Tennis Lite Member;

2.2.2 British Tennis Team Member; and

2.2.3 Child Member

2.3 Within British Tennis Lite and British Tennis Team categories of membership there are two different classes of membership. Currently these are Adult Membership (for those aged 18 and above on the date on which their application is processed), and Junior Membership (for those aged between 11 and 17 years on the date on which their application is processed). Child Membership is for those aged 4 to 10 years on the date on which their application is processed.

2.4 If you become a British Tennis Member in any category you will be eligible to receive certain membership benefits. The price and duration of the relevant benefits are subject to change over time at the sole and absolute discretion of the LTA (and in accordance with paragraph 2.10 below), but their duration will ordinarily run for 12 months from the date of purchase.

2.5 British Tennis Lite Member. These are individuals who are eligible for British Tennis Lite Membership by virtue of being a member of an LTA registered venue. In the case of LTA registered venues that are multisport clubs, only tennis members (which may include players, volunteers and tennis social members) of those registered venue are eligible to apply for British Tennis Lite Membership. In relation to tennis specific registered venues, social members of those registered venue are eligible to apply for British Tennis Lite Membership. In relation to registered venues which do not have a traditional membership structure, card holders and any adult or junior involved in an organised programme at a registered venue running a park-based tennis programme and/or an indoor pay and play tennis centre are also eligible to apply for British Tennis Lite Membership. If you are accepted by the LTA as a British Tennis Lite Member, you will receive the British Tennis Lite Membership Package (which includes entry into the LTA registered venue’s Wimbledon Ballot and a British Tennis Rating). There is no cost for this membership however you will no longer be eligible for British Tennis Lite Membership if you terminate your membership of the registered venue, or the registered venue terminates its registration to the LTA. In each case you must notify the LTA of such termination or inform the LTA of any change in your registered venue. Subject to your LTA registered venue renewing its registration with the LTA, your British Tennis Lite Membership will renew automatically.

2.6 British Tennis Team Member. These are individuals who pay the annual membership fee for the British Tennis Team Member package and are accepted by the LTA as a British Tennis Team Member. Subject to receiving payment of your annual membership fee, your British Tennis Team Membership package will renew automatically. Membership can be renewed at any time during the 30 days prior to the expiry of the membership.  If the LTA does not receive your membership fee in relation to the renewal in this period, your membership will cease. Any British Tennis Lite Member may upgrade to British Tennis Team Membership by paying the annual membership fee for the British Tennis Team Member Package. Your British Team Tennis Membership will commence on the day that your membership is accepted by the LTA.

2.7 Membership does not entitle you to attend or vote at LTA General Meetings and does not affiliate you to the LTA.

2.8 Membership is non-transferable and any membership card or identification may only be used by you.

2.9 Persons under 18 years of age at the date of application are only eligible for Junior or Child Membership categories (as appropriate) and must have parental/guardian consent on the application form.

2.10 Any benefits and services that may be made available to you by the LTA are at the sole and absolute discretion of the LTA and are subject to withdrawal at any time without notice to you. The LTA shall decide which benefits and services fall within the relevant categories of membership from time to time.

2.11 The LTA reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion and without assigning a reason, to refuse any application or renewal and to suspend, restrict or cancel the membership of any person. The LTA is not obliged to provide reasons for any action taken under this clause 2.11. However, potential reasons include, but are not limited to, an individual being in breach of these conditions or any further regulations and conditions from time to time prescribed by the LTA, a decision of a relevant (judged by the LTA) body or committee (for example, one of the LTA’s committees) or in the reasonable opinion of the LTA an individual being guilty of conduct which is detrimental to the reputation of the LTA or is detrimental to the interests of the game of tennis or is otherwise offensive or dishonest in dealings with the LTA.

2.12 If payment is required and you are paying by debit or credit card we must receive full details of your debit/credit card with your application. On receipt of your application we will debit your debit/credit card for the price. However, our acceptance of your application remains subject to our approval. 3. British Tennis Wimbledon Ticket Ballots

3.1 All Adult and Junior British Tennis Members are eligible for entry into a British Tennis Wimbledon Ticket Ballot. Child Members are not eligible for inclusion in any ballot for tickets run by the LTA for The Championships, Wimbledon including through any LTA registered venue BTM Ballot and the Central BTM Wimbledon Ballot.

3.2 If you are an Adult or Junior member of an LTA registered venue(s) and a British Tennis Lite or British Tennis Team Member, you are eligible to be entered into the ballots of the LTA registered venue(s) to which your membership is affiliated.
