A Bold New Partnership Driving Social Change Through Tennis

• 3 MINUTE READ

LTA Tennis Foundation recently announced the recipients of its fourth round of grant funding, and among them is a partnership set to make a significant impact on inclusion in sport.

Community Integrated Care, one of the UK’s leading social care charities, has been awarded one of LTA Tennis Foundation’s largest Scale grants to date to deliver a pioneering initiative: Serving Inclusion.

What LTA Tennis Foundation is funding

Serving Inclusion is a collaborative project between Community Integrated Care and LTA Tennis Foundation. It aims to strengthen both the tennis and social care sectors by delivering inclusive programmes that promote skill-building, health, learning, and social connection for people who draw on care and support.

At its core, the initiative is about creating a more accessible and welcoming tennis environment - one that supports people of all abilities to get involved, stay active, and feel part of a community.

We are incredibly proud to award one of our largest Scale grants to date to Community Integrated Care for their visionary ‘Serving Inclusion’ project. This partnership represents a bold step forward in our work to make tennis more inclusive, accessible, and impactful. We’re excited to see the transformative change this collaboration will bring to both the tennis and social care sectors.

About Community Integrated Care

Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest and most successful social care charities, delivering over eight million hours of specialist care and support each year. With a mission to empower people to lead the Best Life Possible, the charity supports individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health concerns, and age-related conditions.

Beyond care, the charity is a recognised leader in social innovation. Through award-winning programmes and partnerships, including with LTA Tennis Foundation, it works to tackle the health, social, and economic inequalities faced by disabled communities. Its pioneering approach has earned it the title of UK Care Innovator of the Year.

“Serving Inclusion is set to become one of the most ambitious social change partnerships in both the sport and social care sectors,” said John Hughes, Director of Partnerships and Communities at Community Integrated Care. “We’re proud to be working with the LTA Tennis Foundation to harness the power of tennis to address inequalities and create meaningful opportunities. Their bold vision has empowered us to explore the true art of the possible.”

“We would like to thank and commend our partners at the LTA Tennis Foundation and the LTA for their passion for this partnership. We have been truly inspired by their commitment to contributing to a more inclusive society and openness to really pushing the boundaries of social change.”

Looking Ahead

Serving Inclusion is a forward-thinking initiative that brings together the strengths of two sectors to create lasting change. By combining expertise in care with a passion for inclusive sport, this partnership is helping to ensure that tennis is a game for everyone.
