Tennis Manager


This is an exciting full-time opportunity to lead and inspire at a vibrant three court Indoor Tennis Centre in Stafford, Staffordshire. The role offers a dynamic blend of on court coaching, delivering high quality group and individual sessions, alongside operational management of the Tennis Centre, outreach programmes, and strategic projects across Staffordshire.
It is the ideal next step for an ambitious, experienced coach looking to take on a leadership position. You will play a central role in our mission to grow participation, build strong community connections, and develop a high performing coaching team in a thriving tennis environment.
Hours & Compensation
- Full-time salaried role of 30 hours per week (20 delivery / 10 operational management and administration).
- Base salary: £28,500 per annum.
- Additional earning opportunity: up to £18,000 per year through self-employed individual coaching.
- Overall earning potential: £38,000-£48,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
Tennis Delivery
- Deliver high-quality group tennis coaching sessions, including LTA Youth Start, Adult sessions, and other LTA branded courses.
- Deliver Tennis Camps and competition programmes
- Lead delivery of schools and outreach programmes
- Maintain excellent session planning and quality assurance.
Management & Operational Responsibilities
- Manage the Indoor Tennis Centre operations and work with key stakeholders/partners for facility management
- Build and manage a Coaching Team at the Indoor Tennis Centre and any linked venues
- Key contact for all centre users and stakeholders/partners
- Responsible for Key Performance indicators, including participants on coaching programmes, court utilisation, school engagement and overall patronage.
- Oversee facility usage and court utilisation
- Act as a key area contact for the NTA management team, supporting growth and operational excellence.

Ideal Candidate:
- Ideally seeking a LTA Qualified and Accredited Level 4 or 5 coach, but will consider exceptional Level 3 candidates.
- Passionate about tennis with a solid background in coaching and sports management.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills, capable of managing both the Centre's operations and its coaching programme.
- Adaptable, with the ability to balance coaching and management duties as the Centre grows.
- Committed to personal development and the growth of tennis within the community.
Stafford Manor Indoor Tennis Centre, formally known as Baseline Tennis Centre, is located within Stafford Manor High School in the bustling market town of Stafford. The Centre opened in 2010 and although located within school, it boasts its own independent access allowing for autonomy from the schools site. The facilities includes:
- 3 indoor courts with viewing gallery
- 3 outdoor floodlit courts
- Dedicated Car park and entrance
- Reception area
- Changing rooms and showers
- Store room(s)
- Office space and internet access

Essential
- Strong leadership and team management skills, able to motivate, develop and retain a high-performing team.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to balance coaching commitments with operational management.
- Strong understanding of LTA programmes, competition structures, and safeguarding requirements.
- Good IT skills, including use of online booking systems, spreadsheets, and communication tools.
- Ability to analyse and report on KPIs such as court utilisation, programme participation, and revenue.
Desirable
- Marketing and promotion skills to attract new participants and grow programmes.
- Knowledge of local tennis networks, funding opportunities, and community sport initiatives.
