Tennis Coach - Employed/Self-employed - Kingston-upon-Thames
We have a vacancy from September for a LTA accredited coach (Level 3) to join our coaching team. We are offering 14 hrs of group lessons per week on an employed (by YMCA) and self-employed basis (Monday-Wednesday afterschool time, and weekend mornings). The groups would range from beginners to advanced, with children aged from 5-16. Most of the classes are around the improver/able to compete level. The successful applicant will be able to earn roughly £600/pw from the term-time group program.
Around this, the successful applicant would be able to build further hours with juniors and/or adults on a self-employed basis, with at least 7hrs of weekend individual time available during term-time, as well as weekday day-time availability. During holiday weeks, there will be almost constant availability at weekends to coach privately, and also weekdays around any junior camp sessions. Court hire charges for coaches are also very reasonable at our venue.
The successful applicant will also be expected to run at least one week of camps at Easter, and 2-3 weeks of camps during the summer holidays on an employed basis. They will be able to run half-term holiday camps on a self-employed basis if they wish. Furthermore, to help organise and run our two annual junior internal competitions at the end of summer term, and during the autumn term.
Hawker Tennis is based at a popular community sports centre in North Kingston, run by the YMCA. The tennis programme is very much junior orientated, and we currently have over 150 juniors playing, ranging from complete beginners up to national level players.
Whilst we are ambitious and determined to continue our great work with juniors which includes a small performance section, the centre has a very relaxed atmosphere. As we are an open to public venue, there is no private tennis club or committee aspect.
We have 3 outdoor hard courts, all of which are floodlit, and hope to add a 4th court in the coming years.
We are looking for a coach who is motivated to be part of a thriving junior tennis programme, and who is fantastic with children of all ages. This is a great opportunity for a coach to develop their skills, and become established at a fantastic venue
