RPDC Head Coach - Reed's School


• To provide inspirational and high-quality coaching to all players within the RPDC programme. They are accountable for the development of all RPDC players, in addition will have individual responsibility and accountability for the coaching and development of a number of identified players within the RPDC. This will include coaching individual players, squads, and groups throughout the year at base and at tournaments (domestic and international), and developing, planning, and implementing individual player development plans (IDPs) and tournament schedules which are fully integrated with the RPDC team.
• To provide age-appropriate support through a player focused, person-first approach, ensuring each player is fully equipped and prepared for the next stage of the LTA pathway.
• Assist the RPDC Programme Manager in driving and implementing the RPDC values and player development philosophy across the programme to successfully achieve the RPDC purpose/outputs.
• Assist the RPDC Programme Manager with the coordination and administration of the RPDC programme, including communicating and liaising with the staff, players, and parents.
• Coordinate and support the RPDC Programme Manager with the RPDC selection and reselection process. Ensuring a clearly communicated RPDC selection process and criteria, including the communication pre, during and post selection and completion of player agreements.
• In coordination with the RPDC Programme Manager, attend selected competitions as part of the players annual competition plan, proving the highest standards of coaching & support.
• Build excellent working relationships with parents to enhance player development and ensure parents are informed, educated and appropriately involved in decisions made.
• Be available remotely to players, parents and individual coaches should they require feedback and support away from weekly delivery.
• Work closely with the RPDC Programme Manager, LTA RPDC Network Lead, LTA National Age Group Coaches and other LTA Performance staff as required, to ensure that the content of the programmes and training meets the players’ needs and growth and maturation always considered.
• Be available to staff LTA National Performance Pathway activities & attend coach development days as required.
• To work with the RSTA Management team to help with the strategic development of the Academy and RPDC.
Reed’s School are seeking a Head Coach to drive forward performance tennis within the Reed’s School Regional Player Development Centre.
The RPDC Head Coach should be an individual with the passion, commitment, and expertise to create an inspiring and transformational development environment which prepares players for the international junior stage of the pathway.
The successful applicant will lead the RPDC programme alongside our experienced coaching team, as well as being individual coach to a small number of high potential juniors aged 10-14, with the goal of selection into National Academy, International activity and National camps.
The successful applicant should be a fantastic team player who sets and maintains the very highest standards of professionalism and can communicate effectively and collaboratively with all Reed’s staff, appreciating the vital role everyone plays in the Centre’s overall success and the importance of a positive culture and environment.
The RPDC Head Coach will be responsible for leading the planning, development, and delivery of coaching within all areas of the RPDC, working closely with the Reed’s School Tennis Academy Head Coach in managing RPDC/RSTA players who cross over.
The successful candidate will need to be LTA accredited to a minimum of Level 4 & ideally be working towards achieving their Level 5 Performance Coach.
On occasions, the Head Coach will be required to travel both nationally and internationally with selected players therefore full working knowledge of LTA and Reed’s School safeguarding guidelines will be required.
The role will work across 46 weeks of the year, including the school holidays in providing coaching and tournament support.
