Tennis & Padel Referee - North West
About the Role
I am seeking qualified and motivated Referees to officiate at LTA-sanctioned tournaments and competitions across the North West, UK. As an LTA Referee, you will play a key role in ensuring tournaments are conducted fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with LTA and ITF rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the designated Referee for LTA-approved competitions and tournaments.
- Ensure all matches are conducted in line with the Rules of Tennis and LTA Competition Regulations.
- Manage tournament operations on the day - including scheduling, and match administration.
- Supervise and support court supervisors.
- Resolve on-court disputes and apply the Code of Conduct when necessary.
- Liaise with tournament organisers, players, coaches, and venue staff.
- Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and fair play standards are maintained.
- Submit post-event reports and disciplinary documentation where required.
- You will not need to deal with committees.
- Do note that you are only required to work on the day of events.
Essential Requirements
- Accredited LTA Referee qualification (or working towards certification).
- Strong knowledge of the Rules of Tennis and LTA competition regulations.
- Excellent decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and impartial under pressure.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours on weekends only.
Desirable
- Experience refereeing regional tennis tournaments.
- Previous officiating experience (chair umpire, line umpire, or tournament official).
- Experience using tournament management software (e.g., Tournament Planner).
- First Aid certification.
