Teesside Tennis Development Officer
Passionate about growing grassroots participation in the game of tennis? We are
looking for a candidate passionate about sports development, for a role driving
tennis participation across park sites in Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, and
Redcar & Cleveland, as part of a significant LTA investment in the facilities. A role
with the opportunity to really impact upon tennis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with Head of Parks and local authority contacts to ensure a joined up
approach to promotion of the park tennis courts and programme
Work with local coaching workforce to provide year round coaching for
Juniors and Adults in each area
Building relationships with local schools, colleges, University to create a
pathway for tennis players from Education to Parks
Supporting on court activities: Free Park Tennis sessions weekend mornings;
Big Tennis Weekend events; Tennis Socials
Recruitment and coordination of local volunteer ‘Activators’ to support Free
Park Tennis
Driving participation in other LTA initiatives such as, Big Tennis Weekends, and
Local Tennis Leagues across the area
Regular communication with the tennis community on the different opportunities to play in the area
Conducting regular checks of all park sites to ensure courts are in good condition for play
Role will be a flexible 12 hours per week - with delivery of Free Park Tennis and other activity on Sat/Sun morning

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL
Be passionate about growing grassroots tennis participation
Have an understanding of the landscape of parks tennis
Candidates do not need to be a coach - though for those with a
coaching qualification there is an opportunity to combine with a
coaching role to increase hours
Hold a driving license and be able to drive within the area
Be willing to learn and develop
