Bradfield College is seeking an outstanding Director of Tennis to lead all aspects of tennis across the College and Bradfield Tennis Centre, creating an exceptional programme with national and international recognition.
This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious, high-level tennis professional to shape a joined-up performance and participation pathway in one of the UK’s leading co-educational boarding schools.
The opportunity
The Director of Tennis will provide strategic and hands-on leadership of both:
•The Bradfield College Tennis Programme (Years 9–13, boys and girls), including performance, team and participation tennis
•The Commercial and Community Tennis Programme at Bradfield Tennis Centre, delivered through Bradfield Commercial Limited (BCL)
You will work closely with the Director of Sport and the Managing Director of BCL to:
•Design and implement an ambitious tennis development plan as one of Bradfield’s flagship performance sports
•Maintain and grow our status as a multi–LTA award-winning centre and accredited Performance Centre
•Build a thriving, inclusive tennis culture that serves pupils, members and the wider community
Our tennis environment
Bradfield has a strong tennis tradition, with high pupil interest and a year round performance group competing in various LTA competitions. In the summer term, the College fields around 26 boys’ and girls’ teams and enters a wide range of regional and national events.
Facilities include:
•Bradfield Tennis Centre with three indoor Plexi-pave courts.
•Six floodlit Conica clay courts.
•Additional outdoor hard and astro courts in the summer period.
The Director of Tennis will lead a committed coaching team of full time LTA Level 3–4 coaches, supported by a Tennis Development Officer and teaching staff in the summer term. Bradfield and Bradfield Tennis Centre have been recognised with multiple LTA awards, including Berkshire Club of the Year, Regional School of the Year and Performance Coach of the Year.

•Experience and drive to develop and manage a large and varied tennis programme
•Extensive coaching experience, ideally across a range of ages and abilities
•Proven ability to lead, manage and develop a team of coaches
•Passionate about both performance and participation in tennis
•Excellent communication skills to support the management of relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
•Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding with pupils, players, parents and colleagues
•Highly motivated, positive and able to work independently
•A desire to work closely with the wider tennis coaching team
•Thorough knowledge and understanding of current LTA initiatives and processes
•Commercial awareness and entrepreneurial skills
•Creativity and willingness to innovate
•Strong planning and efficient administrative and IT skills
•Well-developed presentation skills
