City Padel is dedicated to developing padel across the South West, creating welcoming, energetic environments where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy the sport. As the UK padel scene continues to grow, we are focused on delivering outstanding facilities, coaching programmes, and community-driven experiences.
We’re looking for a driven and experienced Head Coach to take ownership of the coaching programme at our Plymouth club. This role offers the opportunity to lead from the front, shape how padel is delivered locally, and contribute to building a strong, connected player base.
The Role
As Head Coach, you will oversee all aspects of the coaching operation, ensuring sessions are engaging, well-structured, and aligned with the club’s ambitions. You’ll work closely with the Club Supervisor and wider team to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for all players.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Taking overall responsibility for on-court coaching delivery and daily activity coordination
Leading, mentoring, and supporting the coaching team to maintain high standards
Planning and managing weekly coaching schedules, programmes, and staffing rotas
Creating and evolving coaching pathways for juniors, adults, and performance players
Organising internal competitions, social play, and team-based activities
Delivering both group and one-to-one coaching sessions to a high standard
Ensuring consistency and quality across all coaching sessions
Managing the commercial performance of coaching activities, including participation and revenue
Introducing new ideas to maximise court usage and enhance player engagement
Growing the player base through targeted initiatives and community-focused activity
Building partnerships with local organisations such as schools, colleges, and universities
Assisting with the delivery of events, including corporate and group bookings
Championing an inclusive and welcoming club culture
Ensuring all coaching activity aligns with governing body standards where required
Promoting a safe and well-maintained playing environment
City Padel Plymouth is a new state of the art indoor facility in the heart of Plymouth.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, leadership, and a genuine enthusiasm for developing players and people. You should be comfortable taking initiative and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
You will ideally have:
Experience managing or supporting a team of coaches (padel experience preferred)
A recognised coaching qualification (LTA or equivalent), with up-to-date First Aid and Safeguarding
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear and confident communication skills
A positive, hands-on approach to leadership
An understanding of how to engage and grow a player community
Awareness of social media as a tool for promoting activity (advantageous but not essential)
A strong passion for padel and a desire to contribute to its growth in the region
