Rally Together London Traineeship
Overview
As a Rally Together London tennis coach trainee, you will have the chance to work part-time, supporting the coaching team in delivering on-court group sessions for both juniors and adults.
Alongside on-court activity, you will have a number of off-court administrative responsibilities, gaining a well-rounded experience in the field. This role offers the chance to "earn while you learn", with a weekly wage and a fully funded LTA coaching qualification. You'll gain hands-on experience, ongoing professional development, and mentorship from an experienced LTA coach. The position is flexible, allowing you to balance other work or study, and has the potential to grow as you progress.
This role is supported by the LTA and Mayor of London through the Rally Together London project. The project aims to provide employability opportunities for young Londoners aged 16-25 to support the growth of accessible tennis opportunities for underserved areas and under-represented groups across the capital.
Support Package for Trainees
•Guaranteed weekly wage at London Living Wage for a minimum of 5 hours per week
•Fully funded LTA Assistant Coaching qualifications, LTA Activator training, and competition organiser training
•Guidance and mentoring to support completion of LTA qualifications
•Opportunities to attend major tennis events
•Flexible schedule with potential to expand hours as experience grows
Key Responsibilities
On-Court Activities:
•Barclays Free Park Tennis delivery
•Assist in delivering junior and adult community coaching sessions
•Facilitate social matchplay or group taster sessions
•Support inclusive tennis sessions (e.g., 60+, SEND sessions, Homeless sessions)
•Support holiday camps
•Assist with Barclays Big Tennis Weekend events
Off-Court Activities:
•Manage attendance and session records
•Support equipment and court setup
•Assist with marketing, social media, and promotional materials
•Contribute to event planning and programme delivery organisation
•Respond to participant enquiries
The above responsibilities will be dependent on the successful candidates age, qualifications and experience.
Tennis for All CIC is a social enterprise dedicated to making tennis genuinely accessible. We deliver free and low cost, high quality programmes across estates, schools, parks, and public venues in Hackney, Haringey, and Islington. Our work focuses on communities least likely to participate, addressing barriers related to poverty, race, disability, gender, and geography.
•Aged 16-25
•Passionate about sports coaching, youth work, community engagement, and promoting physical activity
•Interested in pursuing part-time or full-time work in sports coaching & delivery
•Willing to undertake a LTA qualifications and CPD opportunities
•Energetic and enthusiastic individual that is eager to be a positive role model
•Right to work in the UK and satisfactory criminal record check via LTA
•No prior tennis experience required, but an interest in learning to play the sport is essential
