Rally Together London Traineeship - Redbridge
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate sports enthusiast to begin a career in tennis coaching. The trainee will support the coaching team in delivering group and individual sessions for juniors and adults, alongside contributing to holiday camps, school taster days, and community events across local parks.
The role also includes off-court responsibilities such as administration, event coordination, and promotional activity. Trainees will receive a weekly wage, fully funded LTA coaching and officiating qualifications, and ongoing mentorship from experienced coaches. The position is flexible and designed to grow as skills develop.
Key Responsibilities
On-Court:
Assist with junior and adult coaching sessions
Support holiday camps, school taster days, and community sessions
Facilitate matchplay and competitions
Support inclusive sessions (e.g. Walking Tennis, SEND)
Assist at events such as Barclays Free Park Tennis and Big Tennis Weekend
Off-Court:
Manage attendance and session records
Support equipment setup and pack down
Assist with marketing and social media
Contribute to event planning and delivery
Respond to participant enquiries
Support Package
Guaranteed weekly wage (minimum 5 hours)
Fully funded LTA Assistant Coach, Activator, and competition organiser training
Mentoring support through qualifications
Ongoing professional development opportunities
Opportunities to attend major tennis events
Redbridge Parks Tennis operates across multiple community park sites, offering accessible, high-quality tennis facilities following investment from the LTA Park Tennis Project.
The programme focuses on increasing participation and engaging underserved communities. Trainees gain hands-on experience across coaching, competitions, holiday camps, and outreach, while contributing to a broader mission supported by the LTA and Mayor of London to improve employability for young people aged 16–25.

Aged 16 or over
Passionate about sport, coaching, youth work, or community engagement
Interested in a career in sports coaching or programme delivery
Willing to undertake LTA qualifications and CPD
Energetic, reliable, and enthusiastic
Strong organisational and communication skills
Right to work in the UK and able to complete an LTA DBS check
No prior tennis experience required (willingness to learn is essential)
