Competition Organiser
The Competitions Co-ordinator has two key responsibilities:
Cheshire Tennis Competition Lead
•Develop and maintain an annual programme of county competitions for juniors, adults, and seniors.
•Identify gaps in the competition calendar and work with clubs to create new opportunities.
•Encourage clubs to run competitions using LTA software to boost participation numbers.
•Act as a trusted advisor to clubs and district leagues on competition planning and best practice.
•Recruit, support, and motivate volunteers, referees, and tournament organisers.
Tournaments Director for Cheshire County Competitions
•Oversee the delivery of all Cheshire County competitions, ensuring each event runs smoothly.
•Appoint and support Tournament Organisers, ensuring compliance with LTA standards.
•Manage venue bookings, event logistics, and financial arrangements.
•Provide a positive experience for players, volunteers, and officials at every competition.
Cheshire Tennis works in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to grow participation and support clubs across the county. With over 90 clubs, thriving park courts, and a rapidly expanding padel scene, Cheshire offers a vibrant and engaged tennis community. As Competitions Co-ordinator, you’ll play a key role in shaping competitive tennis across all ages and levels, supporting clubs, players, and volunteers to deliver high-quality events.
•Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
•Experience running tennis competitions or managing sporting events
•Ability to motivate, coordinate, and support volunteers and clubs
•Passion for tennis and padel and a commitment to growing participation
Play a central role in one of the UK’s most active tennis communities
