Head Tennis Coach
The Role
Framlingham LTC is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and reliable Level 3 (minimum) qualified Tennis Coach to build and develop a vibrant coaching programme (position open to Consortium Applications). This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about growing participation for Juniors and Adults and membership at all levels and helping shape the future direction of coaching within a friendly and welcoming club environment.
The successful candidate will aim to deliver a range of coaching sessions such as:
•Adult Cardio Tennis
•Adult Coaching Sessions and Match Play
•Red Ball
•Orange Ball
•Green Ball
•Holiday Sessions
•Pickleball
•Walking Tennis
There will also be opportunities to deliver individual lessons. Sessions should be fun (engaging), inclusive, well-structured, and aligned with LTA player development principles.
Key Responsibilities
•Plan and deliver high-quality, structured group coaching sessions
•Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment for players of all ages and abilities
•Work collaboratively with the club committee and members to:
•Identify opportunities to expand and enhance the coaching programme
•Introduce and drive new initiatives and formats to grow participation and club membership
•Build links with schools to:
•Promote tennis and the club within the community
•Create school-to-club participation pathways
•Deliver outreach coaching sessions where appropriate
•Support club events and competitions
•Prepare risk assessments of the facility for the coaching programme being delivered
Operating Model
•The coach will manage the coaching programme and associated administration
•The committee will work with the coach to make as much court time available as possible
•The coach will provide their own equipment (balls, mini tennis nets etc).
•The coach will report to the Tennis Club Committee and Club Chairperson.
•The coach will attend committee meetings in an advisory capacity as and when required
Framlingham LTC is a friendly and inclusive 3 court (tarmac and floodlit) club. Facilities include a courtside pavilion with access to the Sports Ground Clubhouse, bar and changing room facilities. There is ample parking.
‘Fram Tennis’ is looking for a candidate who will become involved in Club life and reach out into the community to expand the coaching provision with a view to increase membership. The successful candidate will receive full support from the Club Committee.
Ideal Qualifications, Skills & Experience
•Minimum LTA Level 3 Tennis Coaching Qualification
•Strong organisational and communication skills
•Experience delivering group sessions for both adults and juniors of various abilities
•Ability to inspire and develop all players
•Experience delivering school outreach programmes
•Ability to build positive relationships with players, parents and club members
•A proactive mindset with ideas to help grow the coaching programme and membership
