Lead Development Coach
Role:
We are looking to employ a driven and enthusiastic coach that can coach players of all ages and abilities. Key duties include:
•Managing, delivering and driving sessions within our club junior, adult, squad & holiday camp programmes.
•Developing and managing delivery of a Competition Programme across our venues.
•Promoting and encouraging sign-up to our programmes.
•Encouraging club/venue membership and other additional playing opportunities.
•Being available to deliver Private (one-to-one) sessions/coaching
•Developing our grass roots park programmes.
•Developing and implementing a regular competition programme.
•Being an effective member of the VTA Coaching Team by attending meetings and collaborating with other members of the team.
Hours:
•Guarantee of up to 20 hours of weekly group lessons during term time (depending on the candidate) with opportunities to increase.
•Competition delivery approximately 4 hours per week.
•Minimum of 18 hours per week during holiday camps.
•A good opportunity to increase hours further with Private Session bookings and racquet restringing.
Pay & Benefits:
•The position is an employed role, therefore you will benefit from payment via PAYE, you will receive standard Holiday and Sick Pay and will have the option to join our pension scheme.

Vale Tennis Academy provides quality tennis programmes in and around The Vale of Glamorgan (near Cardiff). Our vision is to develop tennis within the community by making tennis more accessible and affordable with great facilities for everyone to use. We have coaching programmes in Penarth, Barry, Llantwit Major, Wenvoe and Peterston Super Ely. We operate with a small, friendly and close team of coaches. Our Head Coach and Director is Rob Cunningham, Level 5 Master Club Coach, LTA Coach Developer, Lead Tutor for Tennis Wales and Qualified Coach Mentor.
•LTA Level 2 or Level 3 (preferred) Coach Qualification or equivalent. We will consider coaches who are already on the level 2 pathway.
•LTA Accreditation (essential). This includes; valid DBS, Safeguarding and First Aid Certificates.
•Drivers Licence & own transport (essential)
•A competent playing ability and knowledge of the game
•Knowledge of LTA Programmes and delivery
•Experience teaching/coaching tennis to a variety of player abilities and ages.
•Good organisation and communication skills
•Experience running basic competitions
•Basic computer literacy
