LTA Accredited Coach
Working closely with the SU’s Student Tennis Club, this individual will be the primary driver of the student tennis experience at the University of Bath. Acting as the programme’s “front of house” presence, the postholder will combine hands on coaching, team management, student engagement, and operational coordination to ensure both our BUCS teams and broader student club continue to thrive. This is a new role designed to strengthen the delivery, visibility, and ambition of our university tennis offer.
Working within a high performance environment—and alongside a team of expert coaches—the postholder will build strong relationships with students, The SU, and the Student Club Tennis Committee. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the wider tennis programme as required.
This new position is set to elevate the student experience, professionalise programme delivery, and ensure Team Bath Tennis remains aligned with the latest LTA performance standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
1.BUCS Player Management & Team Coaching
As BUCS Tennis Coach, working closely with the student club committee, the postholder will take full responsibility for the operational, administrative, and performance management of all University of Bath BUCS tennis teams. This includes full coordination of weekly fixtures, supporting players throughout the season, and ensuring the programme meets all BUCS regulations and performance expectations.

2.LTA Strategic Partnership & Long-Term Vision
The LTA University Tennis Coordinator (UTC) plays a central role in aligning university tennis programmes with the LTA’s long term vision for growing the sport within higher education. By working collaboratively with the LTA, the UTC will help deliver strategic priorities such as increasing student participation, strengthening workforce development and supporting performance pathways. Key KPIs may include participation growth, programme sustainability, enhanced competitive opportunities, and improved player experience. Through consistent communication, shared planning, and data driven evaluation, the UTC and LTA will work together to embed a long term strategy that ensures tennis thrives as a core part of university sport, developing both the game and its future leaders.
3.Tennis Committee Liaison
The postholder will act as the main link between Team Bath Tennis and the Students’ Union Tennis Committee, ensuring strong collaboration, clear communication, and alignment across all student led tennis activity.

4.Student Coaching Team (SCT)
Supported by the Head of Club Coaching, the postholder is responsible for engaging and motivating a team of qualified student coaches. As leader of the Student Coaching Team, the postholder will manage, mentor, and grow a motivated volunteer coaching workforce that supports club sessions, engagement events, and student development.

5.Student Club Coaching Courses
The postholder will take ownership of the delivery, visibility, and growth of the student club coaching programme.
