Level 2/3 tennis coach - Bury - Walmer Tennis Club- Lancashire


Role Purpose
To support the delivery of high-quality tennis coaching sessions for children and adults, introducing players to the game and helping them develop fundamental skills in a fun, safe, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
•Deliver group coaching sessions in line with the LTA curriculum and club programme.
•Assist the Head Coach or senior coaches with planning, delivery, and organisation of coaching sessions, camps, and events.
•Provide players with technical and tactical guidance appropriate to their stage of development.
•Create a positive and inclusive environment where players feel motivated, safe, and supported.
•Promote fair play, respect, and enjoyment of the sport.
•Support competition and festival delivery at the club/school.
•Maintain accurate attendance records and support administrative tasks when required.
•Adhere to all safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare policies of the LTA and the venue.

Walmer Tennis Club – Bury
Overview
Walmer Tennis Club, established in 1893, is a traditional tennis club nestled between Chesham Primary School and Clarence Park Lido in Bury, Lancashire (postcode BL9 6PH) . It features four outdoor hard tennis courts for members and visitors alike .
Coaching & Programmes
The club runs a well‑regarded group coaching programme, alongside private one‑to‑one tuition delivered by LTA-qualified professional coaches. Lessons are open to children and adults, beginner to advanced .
Membership isn’t required to participate in certain classes or coaching, though joining confers access to full club offerings and discounted rates .
Competitive & Social Tennis

Essential Requirements
•LTA Instructor (Level 2) qualification.
•Current LTA Accreditation (or Accreditation+).
•Valid DBS check, First Aid certificate, and Safeguarding training.
•Experience coaching in a club, school, or community setting.
Desirable Requirements
•Experience supporting holiday camps and competitions.
•Ability to deliver multi-sport/fitness activities alongside tennis.
•Interest in progressing towards LTA Level 3 Coach qualification.
