Junior Tennis Professional
What’s the purpose of the job?
Responsibility for operating the junior tennis programme of a successful DL Club and giving our members an excellent experience every day, 7 days a week.
What will I be doing?
· Ensuring that a dynamic and progressive programme of junior racquet activities is provided that matches the needs of our members in terms of ability level and type.
· Proactively developing the playing strengths and talent of the junior members, towards future succession.
· Developing the quarterly junior tennis and events training calendar to include match plays, club junior championships, and junior box leagues.
· Ensuring all coaches are delivering week 5 competition week on the programme, and additional themes on the junior product interventions list, for example Xmas Jumper Week
· Ensuring new child members receive the All Stars Tennis Taster and Family Welcome, working with the Family Activity Co-ordinator and Swimming Co-ordinator.
· Walking your courts daily to deliver 5-star standards of facilities through an obsessive attention to detail, taking a See it, fix it approach and completing detailed reviews of DL Clubs brand standards. This includes ensuring all racquets equipment and court surfaces are always operational and sparkling clean and signage and member communications are appropriate to deliver a great member experience.
· Spending quality time on court daily to interact with members and observe and coach your team to deliver SEE5 and 5-star service. Role modelling and coaching your team to always display our core DL Clubs values and adopting a one team approach across all staff including self-employed racquets professionals.
· Taking ownership of and regularly reviewing the Member feedback tablet and Avius system, giving praise and saying “Thank you” to those team members being recognised and taking appropriate actions to further enhance the member’s racquets experience.
· Making sure that my team and my members are always in a safe and healthy environment and that all requirements of the Children’s Safety Guide are followed across all departments.
· Supporting the reception team to ensure that racquets products, courses and classes are compliant to the bookings policy.
· Building good relationships with Club Support, LTA and team members to utilise resources for the benefit of all.
· Ensure that junior revenue and participation targets budgets are achieved and that costs are minimised.
· Contribute to regular member communication - producing weekly FaceBook posts; a monthly introductory E Mail to new members; contributing to the monthly GM Newsletter, and producing a Quarterly Racquets Newsletter
· Manage stock, equipment repairs, and ordering systems, following our operating and finance procedures.
· Participating and sharing knowledge and expertise with other team members.
· Working with the Lawn Tennis Association to maximise all available support and knowledge and to promote DL Clubs.
David Lloyd West Bridgford is a premium facility with 12 tennis courts (both indoor and outdoor).
What qualifications, skills and experience do I need?
· LTA Level 3 qualified.
· Proven experience as a qualified Tennis Coach.
· Experience in delivering and programming children’s group coaching in line with the LTA guidelines.
· The ability to engage and organise large groups.
· Can show a genuine passion when engaging with individuals.
· Can demonstrate excellence in customer service.
· Strong listening and collaboration skills.
· Team player.
