Instructor / Coach – Supporting the Head Coach
Beach Tennis UK is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable LTA-qualified tennis or
padel instructor/coach to support our Head Coach with group coaching and player development.
This is a flexible, self-employed sessional role and would suit someone looking for additional coaching income alongside existing work, while getting involved in a growing racket sport. Hours will be sessional to begin with,
with scope to build as the programme develops.
The role may include beginner and improver coaching, junior sessions, taster sessions, open days, occasional
adult group coaching and cover when the Head Coach is unavailable.
Beach tennis experience is welcome, but not essential. Training and support will be given. We are looking for someone with strong racket-sport knowledge, good communication skills and an encouraging approach with players of different ages and abilities, including adults with learning difficulties.
The instructor/coach will work alongside the Head Coach to help players feel welcome, build confidence,
enjoy the sport, progress into regular club play and competitive play.
When covering agreed sessions, some practical support with courts and equipment may be required.
Any agreed additional time will be included in the paid session time or session fee.
A complimentary Beach Tennis UK membership will be included while actively coaching with the club.
Beach Tennis UK Ltd introduced beach tennis to the UK in 2010 and has been developing the sport ever since. Our focus has always been on making beach tennis friendly, inclusive and easy for people to try, whatever their age, background, playing experience or ability.
Brighton Beach Tennis is our local club programme, delivered by Beach Tennis UK Ltd at Brighton Sand Court on the seafront. We run sessions for adults, juniors, beginners, improvers and regular club players, including coaching, tasters, open days, social play, club events and tournaments.
We offer membership and pay-and-play options, and we want people to feel welcome from their first session. A big part of what we do is helping new players build confidence, progress into regular play and, for those who want to, develop towards more competitive play.
Through Beach Tennis UK Ltd, we are also working to support the wider development of beach tennis locally and across the UK, creating more opportunities for adults and juniors to discover and enjoy the sport.
We’re looking for someone friendly, enthusiastic and reliable, who enjoys helping people learn and feel confident on court.
You’ll need to be an LTA Instructor Level 2 or above in tennis or padel, with LTA Coach Accreditation, DBS, safeguarding and first aid requirements in place.
Beach tennis experience is welcome, but not essential. We’ll provide training and support, so what matters most is a positive attitude, good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working with adults, juniors, beginners, improvers and mixed-ability groups. You’ll be supporting our Head Coach, with the opportunity to cover agreed sessions when needed.
We’d also love to hear from someone interested in broadening their racket-sport experience and being part of the development of beach tennis locally and across the UK.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who can help players feel welcome, enjoy their first experience of beach tennis, build confidence and want to come back.
