Head Tennis Coach
As Head Tennis Coach, you will:
•Lead the day-to-day delivery of the Club’s tennis coaching programme
•Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 8 LTA Accredited coaches with qualifications ranging between Levels 1 and 4.
•Provide a visible, welcoming, front-of-house presence for members and parents
•Develop clear player pathways from beginner to performance level
•Lead on junior performance and team tennis, maintaining high competitive standards
•Ensure all activity is delivered in line with LTA safeguarding, inclusion, and welfare policies
•Oversee the administrative operation of the coaching programme
•Attend Committee meetings, open days and be responsible for running senior and junior club tournaments
With a thriving membership of around 1,300 members, including 500 senior tennis players and 300 junior tennis players, Berkhamsted Lawn Tennis & Squash Club is one of the region’s leading multi-sport clubs. We are looking for a coach who:
•Has proven experience in a Head Coach or senior coaching role, with a track record of managing other coaching staff
•Is passionate about both inclusive participation and junior performance tennis
•Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
•Is committed to maintaining high standards and developing a strong coaching workforce
•Can create and deliver a long-term coaching vision and roadmap
Qualifications & Requirements
•LTA Accredited+ Coach (Level 4 or 5)
•Enhanced DBS check
•Valid Safeguarding & Protection in Tennis certification
•Emergency First Aid qualification
•Willingness to engage in ongoing CPD and workforce development
