Head Tennis Coach - Victoria Lawn Tennis Club
Victoria Tennis Club in Street, Somerset is seeking to appoint a Level 3 or Level 4 LTA Accredited Coach to lead and deliver its coaching programme.
We are a friendly and growing club with a strong, supportive committee, committed to increasing participation and developing a structured coaching pathway in line with LTA guidelines.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated coach to take ownership of the club’s coaching programme and build a sustainable offering for both junior and adult players.
The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, delivering, and developing a comprehensive coaching programme aligned with LTA standards, covering all ages and abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a structured weekly coaching programme
- Deliver high-quality group and individual coaching sessions
- Create clear player development pathways (mini tennis through to adult play)
- Increase participation and membership within the club and local community
- Support competitions, match play, and club sessions
- Ensure all coaching activity meets LTA safeguarding, inclusion, and safety standards
- Work closely with the committee to support the club’s long-term development
Street is a town of 15,000 with excellent connections to expanding housing provision and economic growth across the central area of Somerset. The club is situated within the Victoria Sports and Social Club, which has been running for over 50 years in its current form, containing a large bar and function room and a range of other sports on offer (Squash, Cricket, Bowls, Football).
Victoria Lawn Tennis CLub offers 4 courts consisting of 2 astro courts and 2 hard courts. All courts are fully LED flood lit.
| Essential: - LTA Level 3 of Level 4 Accredited Coach (current accreditation required) - Valid DBS, First Aid, and safeguarding certification - Proven experience in delivering and managing coaching programmes - A strong understanding of the members tennis club priorities and the needs of tennis members - Strong organisational and communication skills - Ability to work independently and take initiative Desirable: - Experience growing participation within a club environment - Experience running junior programmes and competitions - Marketing or promotional experience to attract new players -Existing administration systems or processes for administering a coaching programme– that can be hyperlinked from club website |
