Head Tennis & Padel Coach
The Head Coach of Tennis and Padel will lead the development, delivery, and growth of both sports at Oxton Cricket and Sports Club. This role blends on court excellence with programme leadership, ensuring that players of all ages and abilities receive high quality coaching, a welcoming experience, and clear pathways to progress. The Head Coach will be central to embedding Padel as a core part of Oxton’s sporting future while strengthening the club’s long standing tennis heritage.
On Court Delivery:
•Deliver high quality coaching across group sessions, squads, and individual lessons in both tennis and Padel.
•Provide tailored technical and tactical instruction appropriate to each player’s stage of development.
•Lead performance oriented sessions for advanced juniors and adults where appropriate.
Programme Leadership:
•Design, implement, and grow a year round coaching programme for tennis and Padel.
•Develop clear player pathways, ensuring smooth progression from beginner to performance levels.
•Oversee holiday camps, competitions, and community engagement initiatives.
•Ensure programmes are inclusive, welcoming, and aligned with LTA standards.
Team & Operational Management:
•Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of assistant and accredited coaches.
•Manage session scheduling, court utilisation, and programme logistics.
•Work closely with club leadership to align coaching delivery with strategic goals.
•Support the club’s Padel launch, ensuring a strong start and long term sustainability.
Community & Member Engagement:
•Build strong relationships with members, parents, schools, and local partners.
•Promote a positive, professional coaching culture that reflects Oxton’s values.
•Contribute to club events, open days, and marketing activity to grow participation.
Safeguarding & Standards:
•Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare, and professionalism.
•Ensure compliance with LTA policies, including accreditation, DBS, first aid, and CPD.
•Uphold a safe, inclusive environment for all players and staff.
Role Structure:

The Head Coach will work collaboratively with the club committee, Padel partners, and wider coaching team to deliver a unified, high quality experience across both sports.

Oxton Cricket and Sports Club is a thriving multisport hub at the heart of the Wirral community, known for its welcoming atmosphere, strong local partnerships, and commitment to growing participation across all ages and abilities. The club offers four high‑quality hard tennis courts, including two recently upgraded with state‑of‑the‑art LED floodlights, enabling year‑round play. Opening in Spring 2026, Oxton will expand its sporting footprint with the addition of two brand‑new Padel courts, establishing the club as one of the region’s most exciting multi‑sport venues. •A high quality Head Coach of Tennis and Padel at Oxton should have:
•A LTA Level 3 qualified (or above) coach with current accreditation,
•Strong leadership experience, and the ability to inspire and develop a coaching team.
•Effective communication skills, and a warm and professional manner
•Technical and tactical expertise to deliver outstanding sessions across both tennis and padel.
•Experience and confidence in designing progressive player pathways, growing programmes, and engaging positively with members, parents, and partners.
•Proven track record of maintaining high standards, promoting inclusion, and creating an environment which fosters a sense of belonging where players will thrive.
