Head of Development
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Development Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and a commitment to educating and developing athletes of all skill levels. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive and motivating environment that encourages personal growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Assisting the HOD and increase the numbers on the current Tennis Programme.
Responsibilities:
Support the Head Of Development with the delivery of the Development Coaching Programme
Assist with delivery of schools sessions and local parks.
Minimum 12-15 hours on-court coaching at Swansea Tennis Centre with potential to expand this to 15+ hours.
Delivery of tennis lessons and educate the children of the technical and tactical elements of tennis.
Monitor player progress across coaching sessions and feedback to the Head of Development to enhance their performance.
Foster a supportive team culture that promotes respect, discipline, and fair play within the centre.
Support with delivery of competitive internal match play events.
Requirements:
wansea Tennis Centre, is operated by the social enterprise Tennis Swansea 365, and is one of the busiest and most successful indoor tennis facilities in the UK. The Lead Development Coach will be responsible for maximising participation opportunities and enhancing the commercial performance of Swansea Tennis Centre in line with its key business objectives.
Working closely with our partners, Swansea Council, Tennis Wales, and the Lawn Tennis Association, Tennis Swansea 365 we will continue to drive mass participation and utilisation to maximise income to reinvest into the Swansea Tennis Centre.
The Centre is also an accredited Regional Player Development Centre and has produced some of the best performance tennis players in the UK and is overseen by a number of Wales’s award-winning tennis coaches.
The Centre is entering a new phase to modernise, protect and prepare for the future and a new ‘Vision’ is being developed to maximise the commercial performance, facility development, tennis programme, marketing & communications, fitness activities, governance, and leadership.
Minimum LTA Instructor Coaching Qualification (Level 2).
Strong knowledge of tennis coaching.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire players.
Ability to work well in a team environment while also demonstrating leadership skills.
A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all participants.
A strong passion for sports and athlete development is essential.
