Head Coach, Portcullis Tennis Club
This is a full-time position based within an established tennis programme at Portcullis Tennis Club and sees over 150 weekly players. The successful candidate Head up the programme, with various groups of on court delivery across the week.
There is also an opportunity to get involved with the clubs team training who are in high divisions across the Oxon Leagues.
There will be some additional hours in various Schools, competitions and camps to increase income.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Court Delivery: Continue to deliver and maintain high quality tennis coaching sessions, including LTA Red, Orange, Green, Yellow and Adult beginner/improver/advanced sessions. Develop school/club links to enhance the outreach in Wallingford and surrounding areas..
Personal Coaching Business: Opportunity to supplement income through individual coaching on a self-employed basis.
Other duties may be required such as coach and committee meetings.
On-court delivery consists of a current well established programme at two venues, seeing over 150 weekly players. Delivery includes: LTA Youth Start, mini/junior groups, adult groups of all levels and individuals tuition.
The successful candidate will be able to deliver an individual coaching business alongside delivering a group coaching programme. The successful candidate will quickly build a minimum of 15-20 hours of regular individual coaching sessions, which will be supported with marketing by NTA and Club marketing.
Full-time role, up to 16 group coaching hours per week, plus up to 10-15 hours of individual coaching at an agreed rate.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Potential for additional income from personal coaching, competition, camps and community events such as Schools, estimated at £12,000 - £20k per year.
Total combined income potential: Up to £40-45k
Portcullis LTC is a LTA Registered Venue with over 360 members located on the Hithercroft Sports Park (OX10 9RB) on the edge of Wallingford. The successful applicant will ideally be an LTA Accredited Level 3 coach or above but we will consider exceptional level 2 coaches and have:
On-Court:
A minimum 2 years experience as an Accredited LTA Coach, tailoring sessions to cater to a range of skill levels, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants by adhering to safeguarding policies and promoting a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
Off-Court Responsibilities:
Strong planning skills to develop and execute long-term visions for programme growth.
Ability to engage with NTA management, Schools, Parents and Committees.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to problem solve.
General Skills and Qualities:
A dedication to personal and professional development, staying abreast of the latest trends in tennis coaching, sports management, and customer service.
