Head Coach at Church Broughton Tennis Club
We are currently looking for a head tennis coach to help us at our friendly rural club. We are looking for someone who is an enthusiastic tennis professional who enjoys working to develop our individual and team player development. This is a self-employed role, based on standard LTA-approved terms and conditions.
Church Broughton Tennis and Padel Club is run by a committee of volunteers who work closely with the Head Coach and together oversee and plan the tennis coaching programme.
A new Head Coach will be expected to lead a variety of weekly group classes including adult improvers sessions, midweek juniors and weekend junior group classes across all ability levels. (Total 19 hours with one day off) There is also the potential to run private coaching.
The Head Coach’s principal responsibilities will include the following:
•Partnering with the Committee to deliver the club’s vision, providing an inclusive, friendly and exciting programme, and making CBLTC a great place to play for all our members
•Creating a sense of community leading to player retention and the growth of the club
•Assuming overall responsibility for the junior and senior tennis programmes
•In addition, there is the possibility of developing personal professional development in both Padel and Pickle
Church Broughton Tennis Club is a lovely rural 4 court facility, plus a padel court. We have a new clubhouse. Our membership is 276, of which 80 are juniors. Many are padel and tennis players and we have several ‘family’ group members which reflects the welcoming environment we have tried to provide. We run several tennis teams in local leagues, and junior leagues during the season. We have found an increasing demand for social tennis and friendly tournaments since Covid and have developed increased court time to reflect this. The new Head coach will have free rein to develop the junior coaching programme from minis through to performance groups, liaising with local schools. Like our previous coach our new Head Coach will find great satisfaction from interacting with parents, players and the committee at the club who strive to make playing at Church Broughton Tennis and Padel Club an enjoyable experience.
We are looking for a level 3 (or above) coach who would be flexible and adaptable to our situation while we will endeavour to accommodate their needs. We would value relevant experience but would be supportive of a coach who is willing to learn while early on their coaching journey. Our club is proud of its friendly inclusive reputation and would welcome someone who wants to join us.
