Cambourne Tennis Club is a thriving and growing community tennis club located in South Cambridgeshire.
It has a young demographic which creates a higher opportunity for increasing the membership with the associated coaching requirements. The current population is approximately 13,500, including West Cambourne, with significant further growth expected in the coming years.
The club began in 2003 with two courts and around 50 members within its first 12 months. It is now a five-court club with a clubhouse and around 300 members, having peaked at over 400 members in 2022.
The club has five floodlit courts, two of which are MUGA courts shared with netball, providing valuable additional court capacity for coaching programmes, particularly during the winter months. We currently have approximately 120 junior players participating in coaching activities, alongside adult coaching, social tennis, league teams and holiday camps.
There is significant potential for further growth through adult coaching, school and community outreach, holiday camps, competitions and social events. Cambourne is home to four primary schools, a secondary school and a sixth form college, providing excellent opportunities to develop school partnerships and attract new players into the coaching programme.
