Hackney Tennis Coach


We’re looking for a passionate, dedicated and energetic Tennis Coach to join our thriving coaching team.
This is a hybrid role offering:
20 employed hours per week delivering group coaching within the structured Hackney Tennis programme.
Up to 20 self‑employed hours per week delivering individual lessons with your own clients on HT courts.
This role suits a coach who thrives in a busy, community‑focused environment and values both stability and the freedom to grow a personal client base.
Key Responsibilities (Employed Hours)
Deliver high‑quality term-time coaching for all ages and abilities (mini tennis, juniors, adults, and performance players).
Support school outreach, inclusive/disability sessions, and holiday camps.
Assist with competitions, open days, and community tennis events.
Help identify and develop talent through HT’s Talent ID approach and support player pathways.
Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that reflects our Tennis for Everyone ethos.
Key Responsibilities (Self‑Employed Hours)
Provide 1:1 and small‑group lessons to personal clients on HT courts.
Manage your own diary, communications and billing, while dovetailing with the HT programme.
Maintain excellent customer care, ensuring clients remain engaged and progress toward their goals.

Total expected earnings circa £50–75k per annum (depending on employed rate and volume of self‑employed coaching delivered).

LTA Accredited+ Level 3, 4 or 5 (experienced Level 2s actively working toward Level 3 also considered).
Proven experience coaching across ages and abilities with consistent, high‑quality session delivery.
Approachable, professional, and motivating communicator.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office; comfortable with scheduling/booking systems such as ClubSpark or similar).
Reliable, punctual and trustworthy with a strong work ethic and positive approach.
Able to work evenings and Sundays (with Friday and Saturday as typical days off).
Experience coaching in schools and supporting a school tennis programme.
Good playing standard and a commitment to continual professional development.
Clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection with commitment to best practice.
