Full-time Tennis Coach - Carshalton LTC
One of the key members of our coaching team is moving away, after ten years in post, and we are looking to replace them. The new coach will take on their existing work and work alongside the Head Coach to maintain and develop the thriving coaching programme.
The successful applicant will be coaching both juniors and adults of all ages and abilities at Carshalton Lawn Tennis Club and in a number of local schools. The Club coaching will consist of groups and individuals for both adults and juniors. The schoolwork is in both curriculum time and after school. There is high demand for individual lessons, so you will also be able to build your own client base. There will also be opportunities to contribute ideas towards developing the Club’s coaching programme.
During the school holidays, there is a very busy and successful holiday course programme, which runs in the mornings. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to run junior match play sessions and individual lessons if you wish.
Carshalton Lawn Tennis Club was first established in 1912 and the Head Coach has been in post for 30 years. There are 7 courts (3 clay, 2 hard and 2 artificial grass) with 4 of them currently floodlit.
The club has a really strong social scene and a welcoming atmosphere and is well known in the area. It is closely connected to a number of local schools which continues to provide a constant flow of new members to the club.
The ideal candidate should have:
Appropriate and up to date Coach accreditation to a minimum level 2, working towards level 3, although a level 3 coach qualification is preferred. This accreditation should include a valid DBS, safeguarding and first-aid certification.
Experience of delivering high-quality and enjoyable group lessons to all ages and standards (and individual lessons if level 3 qualified).
Excellent communication skills.
A general love for coaching the game of tennis.
The ideal candidate will be:
Reliable, punctual, hardworking and able to work with our current coaches.
Engaging and enthusiastic and easily approachable to both our current and potential new members.
Looking to take a lead role in maintaining a safe, inclusive, welcoming tennis club and working with the Head Coach to develop the programme.
