Head of Rackets
Courtside Hubs CIC are seeking an individual with experience and understanding of sports development, who is interested in growing participation across tennis, padel and pickleball.
You will work to engage participants of all ages and skill levels, encouraging them to develop a love of activity and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment. The role often involves organising events and liaising with local stakeholders to expand participation and grow our racket sports.
Your responsibilities will include assessing and overseeing various initiatives, programs, and projects, utilising key performance indicators for evaluation. Additionally, you'll be tasked with growing and sustaining new partnerships through active engagement within the local community. You will help deliver our tennis, padel and pickleball programme which run throughout the year for the local community.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Help support the Courtside Hubs CIC team to deliver rackets sports coaching
2. Lead on design of sessions.
3. Find new local activity partners that fit with Courtside's community strategy
Courtside is a community interest company dedicated to increasing physical activity and promoting community through the transformation of local parks. We are a leading coaching provider in the Oxfordshire area and support over 30 primary schools with our outreach programme, delivering regular weekly coaching in 18 venues within the county.
Our coaching programme is well established and provides a good team feel, which also includes staff benefits such as balls, coaching equipment & individual coach contracts with Yonex UK.
We also operate a coaching education side of the business that will allow us to offer in house CPD and support through further qualifications.
Essential
Level 3 tennis coach or padel coach equivalent (or working towards level 3)
Good oral and written communication skills
Competent IT skills - microsoft office including word and exel
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to plan and organise effectively
Adaptability, embracing innovation and creativity
Approachable with a flexible and positive attitude

Creative thinker and desire to programme exciting and fun coaching sessions
Valid safeguarding and child protection qualification
Knowledge of sports coaching
Knowledge and understanding of child protection issues

Hold a full driving licence with access to own transport
Sports related education/degree
Experience of working in a school/club environment
Experience of working with a variety of young people, including male and female, as well as different ethnicities, young and old and people with additional needs
