County Performance Lead
                        
                        We are recruiting for a County Performance Lead to promote, develop and manage all aspects of performance tennis, and to a lesser extent, padel in Cambridgeshire. This is a significant, off-court role which will have a major influence on the success of performance tennis in Cambridgeshire.
This new role is accountable for the successful delivery of our county training programme and our participation in county cup competitions, where you will work with others to ensure optimal selection, safeguarding, transport and accommodation arrangements are in place. The role will also develop and lead the 10 & Under action plan and expand the competitive environment within Cambridgeshire.
The role will cover 5 core elements:
10U Lead: to develop and implement the county 10 & under action plan. The plan needs to be submitted to the LTA twice a year followed by a meeting with the LTA’s 10U National Pathway Manager
Competition management: to develop and implement the county competition strategy aimed at increasing the number of competitive opportunities within the county
County captain management: to recruit, manage, support and empower county captains and coaches from under 8s to adults
Selection management: to agree and embed the county selection process for county training and competitions
Communications: timely and consistent communications to all relevant stakeholders eg. parents, coaches, venues, LTA and the management committee, on relevant aspects of county performance
This role will report into the Chair of Performance to achieve the following objectives:
Develop and sustain an environment where talented junior players from all venues and providers throughout Cambridgeshire can fulfil their potential, whether at county level or progressing further to regional and national level
Increase the number of players involved in county activities
Ensure that county training and county team activities are delivered to the highest standards, including player welfare and safeguarding
Encourage all players to remain active in the sport
Develop a culture and environment that encourages and supports coaches to become and remain captains or help in other ways with county activities
Support the development of existing and new competitions for all players within the county
Manage the performance budget
Create and maintain a player and coach database
Work collaboratively with the county administrator to ensure the 5 core elements are delivered in a timely and effective manner
What are the terms and conditions?
It is expected that the 20 hours a week will predominantly be worked between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, with attendance at some evening and weekend events and meetings as required. For example, it is expected that the successful candidate attends the Festival of Tennis, the Coach forum, the AGM, occasional county training sessions and other key county events. The role is home based with regular travel across the county.
Pay will be competitive depending on experience.

Cambridgeshire Tennis is a county tennis association which is a member of the LTA, the national governing body for tennis and padel. Cambridgeshire Tennis is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, whose management is undertaken by Trustees and a volunteer Management Committee elected annually by its members. Voting members are clubs within the county that are registered with the LTA.

The following skills and attributes are desirable:
Substantial knowledge of performance tennis, LTA junior pathway structures and competitions
LTA coaching experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with peers, county volunteers, LTA colleagues, junior players and parents
Ability to build co-operative and supportive networks within and beyond the County
Ability to manage the performance of captains, coaches and assistants
Ability to get things done in a committee-led, voluntary organisation
Self-driven and able to deliver against the aims of the role
Strong influencing skills - ability to persuade people in a friendly and collaborative way
Good IT skills. Able to use the county’s SharePoint and OneDrive IT cloud, access reports as required and build and manage player and coach databases
This role requires a DBS check
Completion of LTA Safeguarding training is essential
Full, clean driving licence
