County Captain/Coach
As a County Junior Performance Coach, take full accountability for all aspects of coaching in relation to the design, development and delivery of Tennis Oxfordshire’s County Cup Preparation Training Programme and / or County Training Programme for the appointed age groups and gender (boys / girls).
Deliver a minimum of 8 hours County Cup Preparation training time and / or 10 monthly County Training sessions u11-u18 Girls or Boys.
Identify who should be invited to training sessions in line with the Tennis Oxfordshire Junior County Cup Preparation Programme / Junior County Training selection policy with support from the Performance Lead.
Ensure coaching sessions are completed fully during the course of the year (for County Training) or in the weeks immediately prior to County Cup competition events (for County Cup Preparation Training).
Provide at least one set of written feedback to parents during ‘the training period’
and regular feedback to players throughout ‘the training period’.
Ensure players feel prepared and supported in the transition from County Cup Preparation Training and / or County Training, to County Cup events.
Prepare player reports for after County Cup Events.
Tennis Oxfordshire (Oxfordshire LTA) is the County Association linked to the LTA National Governing Body.
All training sessions are held at White Horse Indoor Tennis Centre, Abingdon.
Essential Criteria:
Minimum LTA Level 3 Accredited Coach (or working towards higher).
Proven experience in performance coaching with junior players - any age but specifically u11-u18.
Reliable, organised, and able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with players, parents, and stakeholders (Tennis Oxfordshire)
Demonstrates high professional standards and consistent quality in coaching delivery.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, and player well-being.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience as a County Cup Captain or within County Training programmes.
Knowledge of Oxfordshire tennis pathways and player development structures.
