Club Manager
Responsibilities
To lead and support the Weald front-line teams in all aspects of Club management in delivering service excellence to our members, their guests, and our visitors.
To be responsible for the day to day running of Club premises and staff to provide an efficient and effective service from Club Assistants .
To ensure that adequate cover is provided and that all staff perform their duties to a high standard and in line with agreed Club procedures. Support bar staff in all servery aspects particularly during busy periods.
To coordinate the programme for maintenance and repairs – to include liaising with the Club Grounds Person and coordinating the general service schedule as agreed by the Club.
To make ongoing recommendations to the General Committee (GC) for the improvement to equipment & services and where necessary, to obtain quotes for general work and new equipment in order for the GC to approve expenditure and to arrange for the work to be done / equipment to be purchased.
To work with the Club Treasurer to agree an annual budget for normal running/operational costs and to effectively manage the allocated budget and report progress to the Club Chairperson.
To provide management information (income & expenditure) reports for specified parties and events and otherwise as may be requested, in support of profitability analysis.
To maintain a focus on cost-control whilst identifying opportunity to optimise Club revenue & profitability.
To adopt the role of Designated Premises Supervisor to ensure the Club adheres to its Licensing requirements.
Proactively manage the purchasing and maintenance of adequate stockholding to ensure full service delivery for both routine periods and special events & competitions, to maximise bar revenues.
To continually look to improve Club processes to ensure an effective and efficient service.
To regularly review all service and utility contracts to ensure the Club receives value for money. Review prices of goods bought and sold at the Club, bench-marking against other similar type establishments.
To look at ways of increasing income at the Club, taking a lead support role in the promotion and marketing of Weald events .
To liaise with the Tennis Chairman, Tennis Coaching Team and Squash Chairman to identify ways of supporting them in their work.
To liaise with the Club Treasurer in relation to processing payments, staff salary and timesheet matters. The Club Manager will monitor, approve and input timesheet details and will pass on to the external Payroll Agency for them to action any payroll related changes such as those relating to tax, national insurance and tax codes.
Alongside the GC, both lead and support the recruitment, training and development of new and existing team members ensuring sufficient cover is in place to meet the Club needs including routine bar hours and additional parties/competitions/events. Ensure that all team members always maintain appropriate standards as well as relevant qualifications as required.
To report directly to the Chairperson of the Weald working on-site, other than by exception to be agreed by the Chairperson.

High level of computer literacy.
