Club Coach at Knowle and Dorridge Racquets Club
A exciting opportunity for a new club coach position in West Midlands. We are looking for a forward-thinking, engaging and energetic coach, who will work closely with the head coach to deliver high quality coaching and outreach programs. The coach will be expected to work with all levels, juniors and adults alike. This position will initially have 14 hours of groups sessions based on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday’s, with potential to add schools/disability outreach programs throughout the local area to boost set hours. We also have a great chance to add to our offering so new groups can and will be created to meet the high need of the club. The coach will have scope to run individual sessions, or small team sessions alongside these set hours.
We believe that there is a significant opportunity for a club coach to capitalize on the potential of this forward-looking club in Solihull, where we have already invested in court infrastructure and the coach could create a full time position within 6 months of being at the club and a ready-made membership who are eager to get more coaching as the current head coach is full!
All candidates must have minimum LTA level 3 qualification (level 2 currently on level 3 course) and be an accredited Coach, with the LTA`s Coach Accreditation scheme. They will need to hold a valid DBS and have appropriate safeguarding and appropriate first aid
The main responsibilities of the club coach will be:
•To deliver 1-2-1 lessons or privately arranged group sessions with members.
•To coach the club’s teams.
•To be an integral part on both the adult and junior coaching programs at the club.
•To help recruit new tennis players.
•Enhance our community’s engagement by working with local schools in the area.
•To assist with and help organize annual internal Junior club competitions.
•To represent the club in matches (this is not an essential requirement and can be discussed)
Knowle & Dorridge Squash and Raquets Club is now 116 yrs old. We are one of the largest Clubs in Solihull with over 400 senior members playing plus 150+ Junior/adult and Minis attending coaching. Another 30 are on the waiting list. (225 current junior membership across all sports). The Squash and Racket section have approximately 125 members.
We have 7 all-weather Tennis Court's plus 1 single/multi-use court. 7 of which are the latest Tiger Turf one inline to be refurbished shortly, 7 are floodlit, 1 with low level LED lights. The courts are open seven days a week between 8.30 - 21.30
•There is a lively social scene at the bar with many events and a well-patronized bar.
•The Club team has 3 Men’s teams playing in Birmingham League plus 1 team playing in Coventry League and 1 in the metro league.
•Ladies have 3 in the Birmingham League, 1 in The Coventry League and 1 in the Metro League
•We have mixed and Super mixed teams playing as well as vets teams.
•The club holds in-house tournaments and has a strong social section.
The right coach should be motivated and versatile with the ability to engage positively with all potential participants. You will be able to freely engage with members of all levels and become a key feature of club life. A key feature is being a team player who works well with the head coach and assistants which include Duke of Edinburgh participants.

•Ability to offer professionalism and become a role model for players as well as playing for the club’s teams.
•To be able to perform to a high level when working individually and as part of a team

•Provide their own equipment (individuals only, all group/schools equipment provided)
