Club Coach - Helensburgh Lawn Tennis Club
Helensburgh Tennis Club (HLTC), a thriving and forward-thinking tennis club with strong community links, is seeking an enthusiastic and committed LTA Level 2 (with aspirations to achieve Level 3 qualification) or Level 3 qualified coach to deliver up to 10 group sessions per week and scope for individual lessons.
Due to the growth of the coaching program and membership, we are looking for a fully LTA accredited coach, with PVG, Safeguarding and First Aid certification. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, self-employed coach who wants to make a real difference, develop their career, and be part of an inspiring and supportive team.

Helensburgh Lawn Tennis Club, established in 1884 and located just a short walk from the seafront and Helensburgh Central Station, combines a proud heritage with top-class facilities and a welcoming atmosphere.
The club boasts seven floodlit all-weather courts (five synthetic clay, two synthetic grass), two mini courts, and a practice wall, enabling year-round play for all levels. With a coaching programme tailored for every age and ability—from tots and beginners to competitive juniors and adults—the club offers seasonal courses and holiday camps that promote skills, fitness, and fun. Social sessions, competitive team play, and a vibrant, family-friendly community are all part of the experience.
With flexible membership options and a well-equipped clubhouse, Helensburgh LTC is the perfect place to learn, compete, and enjoy the game.
We are seeking a motivated and professional Club Tennis Coach to join our coaching team. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of an LTA Level 2 coaching qualification (Coach Supporter) and will bring a strong commitment to developing players of all ages and abilities. An up-to-date DBS check, First Aid certificate, and safeguarding training are essential, or the willingness to complete these before starting the role.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience coaching both children and adults across a range of skill levels, with the ability to deliver both group sessions and one-to-one coaching in alignment with the LTA framework. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are key, as is the ability to plan and organise engaging, inclusive sessions that meet the needs of all players—from beginners through to competitive team members.
Personal qualities are equally important. We are looking for someone who is approachable, enthusiastic, and reliable, with a professional manner and a genuine passion for tennis and player development. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is vital.
While not essential, it would be advantageous for the candidate to hold an LTA Level 3 qualification or be actively working towards it. Additional coaching qualifications, such as Cardio Tennis or inclusive coaching training, would also be a plus. Experience working in a club environment, organising competitions or holiday camps, and promoting sessions through social media are all desirable.
Finally, we welcome applicants who are keen to get involved in the wider life of the club and who are committed to contributing to its growth and success over time.
